New York’s number were finally down, and the city was slowly reopening. It was around that time that Jean and I started venturing outside the walls of our apartment more and more. We began dining outdoors, going to the beach, taking taxis, and seeing friends little by little.
After nearly three months of being locked inside a New York City apartment during the pandemic, escaping to Florida just wasn’t an option. That’s when the idea of heading down to the Outer Banks surfaced.
There aren’t many cities in the U.S. that I’m absolutely dying to visit, but Nashville was one of them. Ever since the show Nashville aired, my country music loving soul knew it had to see this city for itself.

Other than ice skating, I’ve never been much of a winter sports girl. I grew up in North Carolina, and my Polish parents hate the snow. To say the least, skiing never came up when planning our upcoming family vacation.

As a resident of Greenpoint since I first set foot in New York City (except a few odd months of crashing on friends’ couches and subletting), I’ve come to know and love this neighborhood for all it has to offer. Below are the places I frequent, and recommend checking out if ever in the area.
Ok, I’ll admit: I’m only 27. Although my 28th birthday is right around the corner, I still have two more years left to trial-and-error my way through my 20’s—you know, before I actually have to get “serious.”
There’s a lot of talk about pizza in NYC, so much so that it can be overwhelming. Let’s narrow it down a bit.
